Ariel Becker is a therapist in training and soon-to-be Masters in Family Therapy (MFT) graduate from Antioch University. Ariel translates her versatile background in the arts (she holds an MFA from SF State in Creative Writing) to creative work with clients in Narrative and Art-Based Therapies. Raised in the Zen Buddhist tradition, she uses mindfulness practices as a base for all her dynamic interactions focusing on techniques to simultaneously build self-compassion and resilience within uncertainty. Ultimately, her work with clients strives to help activate personal agency in (re)writing client stories and give access to a more expansive and congruent way to life.
Ariel has experience providing therapy for adults, young adults and children, and has two young children of her own. She has worked in elementary, junior high, and after school settings, private agencies, universities, shelters for the unhoused, and crisis centers treating survivors of sexual and other trauma. Her current interest is in learning more about Family Constellations as a therapy tool!
